FAQs

Does chemical packaging need to be UN approved?

Most chemicals do need to be stored in UN certified packaging. This is because this packaging has been tested for impact, pressure and durability to ensure that potentially hazardous goods will be safely contained. There are exemptions, for example, when chemicals are transported in limited quantities or if they are non-hazardous. You can find more information on the government's website here.

How can I tell if packaging is UN approved?

UN certified packaging will typically have a UN code stamped or embossed on it. Your packaging supplier will also be able to provide UN certificates, which will include details, including the type of product that a container has been tested and approved for.

What are the benefits of fluorinated plastic containers?

Fluorination is a permanent barrier that enhances the durability of the plastic, making fluorinated plastic packaging suitable for storing liquid chemicals.

How do I know if a container is safe for chemical storage?

The UN certification sheet will include details of the types of products a container is suitable for. We also recommend testing, please get in touch if you need samples for this purpose.

                      Can chemical packaging be printed?
